Parent Tip: Important ways to keep a routine

Hello everyone! We’ve just begun our first official month of operating online — April marks our foray into Virtual Taekwondo Training. Students from Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts in South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen, Aldergrove and Mission can sign up to join our live-stream interactive Taekwondo classes. Coupled along with our Chang’s Taekwondo mobile Application, we are confident that through the challenges, lessons, workouts and a word of the month to help build students’ confidence.
Routines and structure are very important for students of all ages. Some people find a structure restricting, but as famous Navy S.E.A.L. Jocko Willink says:
“Discipline equals Freedom.”
Only by keeping ourselves on a routine can we have freedom to add fun things later! Here are some good ideas for keeping a routine:
  • Wake up at the same time as you would for school or work
  • Eat a healthy breakfast in a timely fashion
  • Get dressed, brush your hair, make yourself presentable
  • Prepare an area for your work
  • Work for a solid chunk without stopping
  • Be sure to take breaks!
  • Drink lots of water
  • Eat lunch on time!
  • Get some exercise in
  • Do some Taekwondo workout, lessons, or challenges
  • Be on time and in uniform for your Taekwondo Virtual class
  • Spend time with family
  • Go to bed at a reasonable time
It’s very easy to fall off the bandwagon when we are stuck in the same house for a long period.. or we are not held accountable to be presentable by not going in public. By adhering to a good routine, you can stay happy, healthier and come out of this time better than the way you entered it!
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.”
Winston Churchill
