What happens when you’re late for a class at Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts

Hello everyone! Everyone does it, everyone is late sometimes.. so we have to know how to prepare to be late. Even if we promise it will never happen, it’s better safe than sorry.
So what happens when you’re late for a class at Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts? First of all, still yell ‘Taekwon!’ When you come into the Dojang. Trying to be sneaky and quiet will not work out for you.
Secondly, make sure you sign in on the tablet in the lobby, we want to make sure you get credit for the class you attended. (Remember, attendance helps you become eligible to promote for a new belt).
Thirdly, approach the mats and wait to make eye-contact with your Instructor, bow first and apologize for being late. We don’t want to hear excuses unless we ask for one. We definitely want you to take responsibility for your tardiness. Even if it was traffic, even if your mom didn’t leave when you wanted to, even if you got stuck behind a grandma driver. Make sure we take responsibility and own our action.
This will allow your Instructor to acknowledge you arriving, allow you to feel better about being late, and solidify in your Instructor’s mind that you are a responsible and trustworthy student!
