Gratitude

Hello everyone! We hope you had a good long weekend, full of training at home! This week we would like to talk about our new Powerful Word of the Month:GratitudeWhat is gratitude? Gratitude is what you get when you combine grateful and attitude. Having a grateful attitude for your life and all the things in it is great, but how do we show we are grateful? Even on what we might think are bad days, we can find the silver lining; or the good in a bad situation. It's raining outside, but your favourite movie is on! Maybe your only friend at an activity is sick so you can make new friends.Changs Taekwondo GratitudeWe say thank you, or we could give flowers, cookies, or our effort in return. All these things show how grateful we are, and also help the other party experience gratitude in return. Now, who are we grateful for? Having such a loving Mom and Dad, or a patient teacher? Perhaps we are grateful for our Instructors at Chang's Taekwondo Martial Arts in South Surrey, Cloverdale and Tsawwassen for pushing us to be better than we are!So, how about not only showing gratitude, but paying it forward! If we are grateful for things, and think about other people who lack those things and therefore lack the gratitude, we can share our belongings, or donate food, clothing or our time. Imagine how grateful those less fortunate people would be!Showing gratitude is very important for our students, by showing gratitude we become better Martial Artists, and better people in general.
