Changs Taekwondo - Training During a Break

Hello everyone, we’re truly into the holiday season now! Our Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts schools in South Surrey, Cloverdale and Tsawwassen are taking their week break and will be open for training January 2nd! Let’s talk aboutTraining during a breakChangs TaekwondoBreaks are unavoidable! Therefore we should already have a plan to keep ourselves in the best shape and mental state possible to avoid losing valuable training results. During a break, we fall victim to laziness! It’s easy to train while we are in class at our dojang, but not so when we are home in a place of comfort (a place where there is a comfortable bed!).Training the break will not be as intense or supervised as your regular Taekwondo lesson, however it can be invaluable to maintaining your techniques for a short period as not to lose anything. During a break it’s important to practice your poomsae, kicking combinations, and board breaking. This will maintain your confidence in your techniques and keep you happier in class because you are able to continue to improve! It’s also important to keep your body healthy as well, whether you go for a walk or run everyday, or choose to go to a gym to train. Maintaining your health will keep you running around and enjoying life for many many years to come. It’s easier to keep it up, than to stop and start again. From everyone at Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts, have a great holiday and we’ll see you in the new year 2015!
