Word of the Month - Health
Hello everyone! We’re excited to be talking about a special word of the month! All Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts students from South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen and Aldergrove will be learning aboutHealthMy body is strong, my brain is sharp and I feel good!Your health is quite possibly the most important thing under your control! When we are healthy, we enjoy being active, hanging out with friends, playing around, and everything is easier.. even work! When we are sick, we are grumpy, we don’t want to be moving around too much, and everything drains us so quickly. So how can we stay healthy for the long run?Go to bed on time!Sleep is one of the number one factors determining our health! If we sleep enough our body has time to grow, repair, learn, dream, and generally recover energy for another day.Eat good food!“We are what we eat!” So when we decide we are going to put something into our bodies.. we have to ask ourselves: “Is this going to taste good, but make my body unhealthy?” “How will I feel after I eat this?”It’s important we only treat ourselves sparingly, and keep our body strong by eating enough good food with Vitamins, minerals, and good nutrients.Exercise enough!Everyday we should be moving, and everyday we should be sweating.. even just a little bit! When you train taekwondo, you are doing your body a favour. When you go running, play with friends, play sports, go to the swimming pool, even bowling (Sort of).. This will all help your muscles stay strong and be ready for just about anything. This is all good to read, but how do you actually apply this to your life? Well, everything seems difficult, and stressful.. until you start. Once you start doing something, it’s like magic! All of the sudden the struggle becomes much less. Though, it will always be there! So we must always be ready for lazy thoughts!**If you would like to earn extra stars:Tell your Instructors what other physical activities you do.Tell your Instructors what good foods you eat regularly.Tell your Instructors when you go to sleep, and when you wake up.
