Never Give Up

Hello everyone! All students from Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts in South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen and Aldergrove. During our Journey along Taekwondo, we start with our white belt and progress to achieve Black Belt, and then we continue our training because we know black belt is definitely not the end. Along the way, we might lose heart..“I’m only a yellow belt? Black Belt is so far!”We as long time practitioners of Taekwondo Martial Arts envy you colour belts! We remember the excitement of learning something new, and for the first time. We remember not being able to remember Taeguk il jang (pattern number one).. we remember not being able to do a fast kick. The sense of achievement we all feel when we are finally able to do something is immense. So how do we stay focused and motivated to see our promise through to the end? Even through the hard days and the lazy days? Here is a quote that might help:“Begin at the beginning," the King said, very gravely, "and go on till you come to the end.” - Lewis Carroll, Alice in WonderlandWe all become White Belt, it is the very beginning of our journey. However, as we go along we begin to notice that not all White Belts will become Black Belts. Also we learn, that not all Black Belts will continue training.Remember, for those of us who continue training we are DOING Taekwondo. For those who choose to treat a Black Belt like an object and choose to stop training, yes you will continue BEING a blackbelt forever. But what is the difference between someone who chooses to do versus someone who chooses to be?For all your Instructors and Masters we all choose to continue DOING Taekwondo. We are proud of our choice, and of all the students who train Taekwondo. Don’t give up, starting your career as a Black Belt in Taekwondo won’t take nearly as long as you think.unnamed**If you would like to earn extra stars:Tell your Instructors how you plan to stay focused on your goal of getting to Black Belt.Tell your Instructors which team you will join when you receive your Black Belt..Leadership? Sparring? Demonstration?Train hard, and never give up!
