Dignity: Treating people like they matter - Changs Taekwondo

Hello everyone! Congratulations to those students that broke their boards this weekend and received their new belts! Due to the nature of this month the instructors at Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts in South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen and Aldergrove all agreed it would be better to have the test earlier rather than later. We have a new word of the month! Perhaps you have seen it, your Instructors have all mastered this new word:Dignity: Treating people like they matter!Dignity is very important. There is an old saying: ‘Treat others the way you would like to be treated.’ We don’t always do this, and it’s alright because we are human. But starting this month we would like all Chang’s Taekwondo students to focus on treating other people in a kind and caring manner.DignatyIt is not just your parents, family members, and friends who you should treat with dignity.. It is also those people you meet during your life. However small your encounter with anyone, we should all treat people with the dignity they deserve. For example, don’t scowl at the homeless man on the street. If you don’t agree with what he is doing, you can simply smile and keep walking. That would make a much better scenario. Please focus on learning about Dignity this month in your classes, pay close attention to what your instructors are saying! We love all our students and want them to improve their character, and our Powerful Word of the Month is just the way we can help students.**If you should want extra stars this month, please accomplish the following objectives:1. Treat your parents with dignity for a whole day.2. Treat your friends with dignity for a whole day.3. Tell your Instructor what the word of the month is, and what it means with examples you’ve come up with.As always we will give you an extra star for each objective you accomplish!
