Cooperation

Hello everyone! We hosted our very first social distance style Belt Promotion Ceremony! Students arrived and tested in small groups, during staggered times and utilizing a station set up. Our 238th Belt Promotion Ceremony will be remembered as an interesting experience for students from our Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts schools in South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen, Aldergrove, and Mission. This month we’ve been chatting on the mats about COOPERATIONCOOPERATION⁃ The process of working together to the same end.⁃ When two or more people work together so that they are all better off.The common theme we are hearing from our students, is that students are helping out at home with chores. Students are vacuuming, cleaning up after meals, taking out the trash, taking care of animals, etc. This is great! In a previous blog we talked about TRICK values at home.⁃ Trust⁃ Respect⁃ Independence⁃ Collaboration⁃ KindnessTeaching kids at home to do chores and help out, definitely encourages the TRICK values as well as cooperation. Everyone wins!As adults we cooperate as well. When we adhere to the traffic laws we are cooperating with other drivers on the road. We wait at stop signs, we follow the traffic lights, we zipper merge, etc.Cooperation is a big addition to our Character arsenal, we’re working together now more than ever. If we can be more mindful of cooperation at home, work and school — we can help ourselves, others and raise the next generation right.
