competition coming up on May 13th

Hello everyone! We have a competition coming up on May 13th in which we have many students competing. We have a special competition team which includes students from Chang's Taekwondo Martial arts in South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen and Aldergrove. So what is the reason for having a competition? How does this play into a student's training and growth within Taekwondo? A competition is a valuable component in a student's training. Not only does it allow a student a rare chance to gauge themselves against other martial artists of the same level and age, but it allows our students a chance to see Taekwondo outside of our Dojang (Taekwondo School) doors. Not only is the event itself a great training tool, so is the lead up to the competition! Days, weeks, even months before the competition students will be training with a purpose. This in itself is another great reason to have a student go to competitions. Not sure how to help your future Taekwondo master into competing? Here are some helpful suggestions:Never be pushyTalk to your Instructor about sparring classTalk to your Instructor about the elite teamTalk to your Instructor about advanced kicking classCome to a competition! Most people don't fear competing, they fear the unknown.. so come show them how fun and exciting it is!Changs Taekwondo Martial Arts White RockChangs Taekwondo CompetitionsRemember to always keep a long term view, never think that now is the only time they can compete. Yes it's easier to start when they are younger.. but they can do just as well with a little more training in the dojang before setting out into the competition scene.**Want more stars?**Talk to your Instructor about the upcoming tournamentAsk your Instructor about sparring classAsk your Instructor about advanced kicking class
