Chang's Taekwondo Word Of The Week

Hello everyone! With the new school year upon us, we have a new word of the week! This week’s word will be:Courage: Being brave enough to stick with what you believe.Have you ever been faced with a tough decision? Was there people trying to get you to dosomething you may not have wanted? With the start of the school, comes the infamous peer pressure. It is hard to say no to your friends, even if you know what they are doing isn’t the right thing. Having the courage to say no, is not only good for you, but you could become a role model for other friends who lacked courage.Changs Taekwondo Word of the Week

Having courage might also be as simple as volunteering an answer to a question at school. Perhaps even showing the example in your Taekwondo Class so your classmates can follow along. Courage might be yelling as loud as you can at your belt ceremony, even with all the parents watching you. Courage is definitely sticking to what you say, and when you say you will not watch too much TV, you will follow through with your promise. Even though you are shy, and you feel like you can’t do some things you believe in, you must have courage! When your mom or dad is dropping you off, say “I love you!”Courage is one of the most important virtues we as martial artists must have. Without courage how can we train hard enough to be blackbelts? We must be ready and willing to be physically courageous every single class in order to become a blackbelt.Sometimes when we start something, we want to quit. Courage can be something you know you believe but you think you can’t do because of shyness, or any other reason; You need to overcome that! So let’s find out what we believe in and starting today, follow through with it no matter what.
