Hello everyone! Can you believe it’s already spring! Everyone at Chang’s Taekwondo South Surrey, Cloverdale and Tsawwassen are excited for a great spring of training! This week, we would like to talk aboutStrength: how to create Power in Taekwondo Martial ArtsThere are six key points in taekwondo on which must focus. Today We like to talk about one of these key points, which is strength. Imagine you have a lot of strength, and you can break many boards at one time. Strength is very important in Taekwondo, it helps us break boards and strike our opponents effectively.Strength can be built up in several ways. There are certain exercises that are good for strengthening your muscles, for example a pushup and a squat. If you do these exercises every day consistently, you will be able to apply your Taekwondo Techniques more quickly and with more power. For example, doing pushups is good for your chest, which is the large muscle group involved in punching. Therefore doing more pushups will help you punch harder. To help train when you are in class, make sure you put all your strength into every single punch. When you kick, make sure you apply your full strength as well. Once you begin to train like this, your muscles will start to know how to generate maximum strength when you punch or kick something.Knowing how to build up your muscles, and how to apply your muscles in taekwondo training is very important to build up STRENGTH in taekwondo.
