Fairness - Changs Taekwondo

Hello everyone! We have a new word of the month, FAIRNESS! Fairness is an important word at Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts, and each students at each of our schools in South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen and Aldergrove must behave in a fair manner!Fairness can be described thus: ‘We all receive what we deserve and need.’Imagine a world without fairness. You are lined up for hours to get the best seat in the movie theatre, then when the doors open they let other people who have just arrived go in first.Imagine everyone is waiting in line to order some food, and you let 2 of your friends in front of you, is that fair?Imagine you take the last cookie from the cookie jar, is that fair?A portrait of handshaking boys in kimono; isolated on the white backgroundFairness goes hand in hand with respect. We are respecting those who have taken the time to wait in line, we are respecting the family and asking before we eat the last cookie. Martial Arts revolves around fairness, and respect. What happens if we leave the dishes we used on the counter? Is it fair that you are telling your parents to clean them? We must clean our own dishes! What are some rules while playing/working with others?Taking turnsGood attitudesUnderstandingBeing flexibleFairness is important, as Martial Artists we must always show our fairness. This quality will help us grow as members of the community, friends, family and Martial Artists.**If you would like some extra stars:Tell your Instructor about a time when someone was unfair, how did it make you feel?Tell your Instructor about a time when you were unfair, how do you think your friend/family member felt?Tell your Instructor what Fairness means, in your own words.Draw a picture about fairness.
