Chang,s Taekwondo Word of the Week Self-Esteem: Knowing that you’re a good person
Hello everyone! Only 3 weeks left until Christmas! Hopefully you have finished all your shopping already and can enjoy the rest of the holidays! We have a new word of the week for you, this week we will focus on:Self-Esteem: Knowing that you’re a good person.
“Nothing builds self-esteem and self-confidence like accomplishment.” - Thomas Carlyle
Students are encouraged to recognize their own self-esteem here at Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts White Rock & Cloverdale. Everyday they train kicking and punching, but also courtesy and respect. We all bow to each other, providing a sense of self-worth. All students train kicking and punching for 45 minutes at a time, providing confidence in their motions and thus Self-Esteem when they think back on what they’ve accomplished. Speaking of accomplishment, is not receiving a Black Belt one of the highest accomplishments in the world of Martial Arts! Becoming a black belt is so much more than people think, you walk differently, you talk differently. Students at Chang’s Taekwondo Martial Arts become less likely to want to prove to other people they know how to fight, because they have already proved it to themselves. Therefore Taekwondo is amazing for one’s self-esteem, and we encourage all students at both schools to realize this, and train that much harder! Have a good week everyone!
