Changs Taekwondo - Our Traditional Uniform

Hello everyone! It's starting to get darker earlier and the nights are getting colder! We are truly into Autumn now, and as such we would like to let all the students of Chang's Taekwondo Martial Arts at the South Surrey, Cloverdale and Tsawwassen locations knowWe should all be back to training in our Taekwondo Uniforms!Changs Taekwondo UniformIn Taekwondo there is a korean word for uniform; dobok. As all students know, "Do" means the way, so Taekwondo means the way of the foot and fist. "Bok" means clothing, so we know Dobok means clothing of the way. Therefore when we are training Taekwondo, we must wear our Taekwondo uniform, as all martial artists have worn before us.It is a great tradition for the spirit of Taekwondo, it is a connection we all share with practitioners dating back thousands of years. As you train more and more, your uniform becomes more worn. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it becomes physically proof of all you have trained and accomplished.Uniforms also keep everyone on the same ground. Not everyone can afford expensive clothing, and we sometimes judge people on their appearance. Clothing can make you look good, bad, rich, poor, young, older, etc. When everyone is wearing the same uniform, everyone is equal while training Taekwondo. We however allow our student to wear their Chang's Taekwondo T-shirts in the summer, because it gets very hot. We want to avoid our students getting overheated and dehydrated. So the T-shirt is allowed from May to the end of September.Let's get back to training altogether in our awesome Taekwondo uniforms!
