Changs Taekwondo - Motivation: Encouraging yourself or someone to be their best
Hello everyone! Both the White Rock & the Cloverdale schools have lots of energy as we get closer to our semi annual Black belt test! The training has become more intense and the students of Chang's Taekwondo Martial Arts are more focused than ever! To keep both blackbelt testers and all students going, we have a new word of the week!Motivation: Encouraging yourself or someone to be their bestEveryone gets tired every once in a while, the key difference we intend to instill in our students is the ability to overcome this with good motivation. Motivation in Taekwondo can come from many different aspects of the Martial Art. It can come in the form of a higher belt, I train hard every class because I want to get my next belt, and I want to become a blackbelt one day. Also, maybe the motivation is to improve your physical side, to help you with either another sport or the sparring aspect of Taekwondo. In some cases, the motivation could be that you become more healthy, through exercise in your class. In any case, the key to success with anything, including martial arts is good motivation.Once you have good motivation for yourself, you should share your motivation with your friends! Help out your fellow students when you see maybe they are slower one day, or are not yelling as loud. Remind them that one day you will be blackbelts together!“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” - Wayne Gretzky
